Blue Cheese Dip
There was nothing I needed to change to make blue cheese dip lower in carbs or to remove gluten. I found a nice recipe online here: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/24901/blue-cheese-dip-ii/
But I thought it was a bit bland and not blue cheesy enough, so I perked it up a bit with some Worcestershire sauce, garlic and onion powder, and more blue cheese. I think this blue cheese dip is addictive! See what you think of it. It is especially good on celery sticks.
I have included this recipe in my Low-Carb Gluten-Free Midwest Thanksgiving meal plan. This is a meal plan for a complete Thanksgiving dinner including portion sizes, shopping lists, make ahead schedule, and adjustments for dairy, tree nut, and egg allergies, vegetarians, and further carb adjustments to take it into the keto zone. Ingredients
- ½ cup olive oil mayonnaise
- ½ cup full fat sour cream
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3 ounces blue cheese
- 1-2 tablespoons water or milk
Instructions
- Whisk all ingredients together except the water or milk.
- Test the thickness. If it is too thick, add water or milk a tablespoon at a time, blending well, until it is the thickness you like for dip.
- If possible, let it refrigerate overnight. It is much more flavorful the second day.
- Serve with raw veggie sticks – celery, radish, cucumber, jicama all work well.
- Nutrition information is just for the dip.
